Somebody once wrote me, asking, “There are always a lot of teachers and students of A Course in Miracles out there, but there has to be a thing that you’ve hooked into, or caught onto? Something that triggered a transformation or even a major healing. So, the thing that was it?”
“Trust,” I said.
Think about your daily life as it seems to be in this world when it comes to the story. Just how do we answer the question; “Who do I trust? Where do I do believe my safety lies? How will I be sustained? Who’s my source?” So when we talk about the final stage of the awakening being pure trust, it’s simply about disengaging and withdrawing our faith and rely upon all of these made-up concepts, beliefs, and ideas in the world. It’s kind of like making a big house of cards, stacking using one card after the other. Then a good wind comes along and poof, it’s just blown over. It can’t even stand a little gust of wind. It’s so frail. It’s so temporary. It’s so transitory; It absolutely was this sense of placing rely upon the Spirit and withdrawing rely upon the rest; all those items that were identified and learned as worldly accomplishments. Why should we rely upon those? a course in miracles book Have they ever brought us lasting peace and happiness? Are they really trustworthy? It certainly comes right down to the essence of who is my buddy? Is it Spirit or matter? Is it Spirit or form? Furthermore how most of us have tried trusting people? Has anybody tried this 1?So you are asking the question, “If someone dies or seems to be dying of starvation, what does that say about their mind?” Where this is heading is always to the awareness that everything is mental. What this awakening will highlight is that everything is mental and that everything is a hallucination. That is a world of ideas and what we call manifest reality, is not reality at all. There’s no distinction between thought and form. Jesus has to create his whole workbook in A Course In Miracles on making the bond between thought and form. His lessons begin with, “Nothing I see means anything,” (W-1) and, “I have given everything I see all the meaning it’s for me.” (W-2) Then, He works his way up to number four, “These thoughts don’t mean anything&rdquo ;.Now, He’s talking about thoughts. First He’s talking about perception, then about our thoughts, then He comes home with lessons 5,6,7,8,9 … perception, perception, perception, perception, perception … and then number 10, “My thoughts don’t mean anything.” You can see he’s trying to melt everything together and show the final veil or stage of awakening, that is trust.
The Holy Spirit uses time to teach us there is no such thing as time, to take us back compared to that timeless moment that is the gateway to eternity. He uses symbols to show us they are all illusions and they are all equally meaningless. That’s exactly the method of operation of Holy Spirit. The Spirit has to utilize your brain to loosen the attachments from the investment in all sorts of things. What kind of things do you invest in, in this world?
